Introduction
Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) was established as Delhi Polytechnic in the year 1940. It is under the control of Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is joined to University of Delhi since 1952. It is one of the strongly identified engineering institutes with a modern educational environment. DCE continuously updates the methods of architecture and engineering in India. It provides the latest educational facilities to its students. It trains the talented young ones to compete successfully in the global arena.

Courses offered by DCE

Delhi College of Engineering offers various full time under-graduate and post-graduate programs such as Bachelor of Science (BE), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Engineering (ME) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D). The courses are available in various subjects such as Biotechnology, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, Polymer Science and Chemical Technology. The admissions are given on the basis of the Combined Entrance Examination conducted by the University of Delhi as well as All India Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. About 85% of seats are reserved for the students in Delhi region and other 15% seats are available for the candidates from outside the Delhi region. They get admission on the basis of All India Merit Rank in AIEEE. The admissions to post-graduate degree courses are dependent on the performance in the GATE qualifying exam followed by the personal interview.

Facilities in DCE

Delhi College of Engineering attracts plenty of students due to its excellent facilities. Library is the backbone of any educational institute. The library in DCE is well-stocked. It is positioned in the centrally air-conditioned, three storied building. It is the central place for the research and academic activities. The library consists of well-equipped conference hall with a capacity of about 150 people for the academic discussions. The library has a treasure of numerous relevant books and journals.

Delhi College of Engineering has a well-configured, centralized computer center to cater the faculties and high profile students. It is housed in the magnificent building with specialized laboratories. DCE provides good hostel facilities. There are five boys’ hostels, one girl’s hostel and one married hostel. The recreational activities in DCE include gymnasium, tennis courts, basketball courts and soccer field.
